  • Important Care Instructions:

    1. Unwrap & Inspect:

    • Gently remove any packaging.
    • Check for damaged petals or leaves and remove them by hand only if you are sure it will not alter the structure of the lei itself.

    2. Keep Leis in a cool spot, away from:

    • Direct sunlight
    • Heat sources (radiators, appliances)
    • Ripening fruit (releases ethylene gas, which wilts flowers)
    • Mist the blooms lightly with water to keep them hydrated
    • Keep it wrapped in damp paper towels on the highest shelf of refrigerator as long as possible before use (gifting)
    •

    3. Refrigerate Immediately (If Not in Use):

    • Ideal temperature: 50–55°F (10–13°C)
    • Store in the vegetable crisper drawer of your refrigerator if possible.
    • Keep away from freezer vents—freezing will damage the flowers.

     4. Keep Lei Moist (But Not Wet):

    • Lightly mist with cool water, especially if made from fresh flowers like orchids, plumeria, tuberose, or pikake.
    • Wrap in slightly damp paper towels or tissue.
    • Then place it in a plastic bag (Ziploc or produce bag) to retain humidity.

     5. Use Within 1–2 Days for Best Quality:

    • Most fresh floral leis look and smell best within the first 24–48 hours after being made.
    • Most rose leis can last longer (3–5 days or more with proper care).

    6. Avoid These:

    • Direct sunlight
    • Hot cars or windowsills
    • Fans or strong airflow
    • Stacking leis on top of each other—this can bruise delicate flowers

     Bonus Tip (for Presentation):

    • Before wearing or gifting, remove the lei from the bag and let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so the flowers can breathe and regain some shape.
    •

    DIY Flower Preservative (optional):

Mix into  a spray bottle of water:

    • 1 tsp sugar (nourishes the flower)
    • 1 tsp bleach (prevents bacteria)
    • 2 tsp lemon or lime juice (balances pH)
